Junior McCants (1943-1967) was a soul artist from Cincinnati, Ohio, known for his exceptional falsetto voice. Tragically, he passed away from cancer in 1967, not in a motorcycle accident as often believed. McCants was brought to the King label by songwriter Charles Spurling, who wrote most of McCants' material. The King label released one more record by him, "She Wrote It I Read It" B/W "Try Me For Your New Love," but it was withdrawn shortly after McCants' death in respect for his family. As a result, only a few promo copies exist, making them incredibly sought after by collectors.
