Justino Gomes Delgado, born on November 3, 1963, on the island of Onhocomo in the Bijagós archipelago of Guinea-Bissau, showed remarkable musical talent from a young age. In 1978, he founded and led the group "Flor de África" and joined the well-known group "África Livre" the following year. Throughout the 1980s, he pursued a solo career and collaborated with bands such as "Super Mama Djombo" and "Nkassa Cobra," gaining popularity with hits like "N'duba Nancy" and "Nh'bina Deus i Garandi." His music, which often addressed social issues, led to his imprisonment for political reasons in 1985 during the "October 17th Case." After his release, he formed the group "Docolma" and participated in significant festivals in Portugal and internationally. In 1988, he relocated to Portugal, where he continued his musical career and introduced new compositions such as "Chiado" and "Sanó."
