Kae Tempest, born on December 22, 1985, in Brockley, London, England, is a British poet, spoken word artist, and playwright. An award-winning spoken-word recording artist, Kae won the Ted Hughes Award in 2013 for their project. They released their first full album in 2014, followed by additional albums in 2016 and 2019, before changing their name for the album released in 2022. In August 2020, Kae announced a change in their name from Kate to Kae and updated their pronouns from she/her to they/them.
