Kajagoogoo is a UK synth-pop group that emerged in the early 1980s, originally fronted by Limahl, who provided lead vocals. The band also featured Nick Beggs on bass guitar and vocals, Steve Askew on E bow and guitar, Stuart Croxford Neale on synths and vocals, and Jez Strode on drums and electronic programming. In the first half of 1983, they achieved success with three hit singles and one hit album. However, Limahl was fired from the group in August 1983 due to creative differences and subsequently pursued a solo career. Following his departure, Nick Beggs took over as lead vocalist, and the group released another album, rebranding themselves as Kaja in North America. After the departure of Jez Strode before their last album, the band officially shortened their name to Kaja and released one more album under this name. In October 2003, the original five members briefly reunited for a special show as part of the VH1 series 'Bands Reunited.' Since then, Nick, Steve, and Stuart have continued to perform as Kajagoogoo. Limahl and Jez Strode rejoined the band in February 2008.
