Kalima is a UK funk, Latin, and jazz style band that was formed in 1983. The band originally began in 1980 under a different name before adopting the name Kalima, inspired by a track by an unnamed artist. Throughout their history, Kalima shared several members with another unnamed group. The band disbanded in 1991 but made a comeback in 2001.
