Kan Kick, whose real name is Ted Hughes, is an American hip-hop producer hailing from Oxnard, California. He grew up in Oxnard alongside fellow hip-hop musicians such as Madlib, Oh No, DJ Romes, and Dudley Perkins. In the early 1990s, Kan Kick was a key member of Lootpack, contributing to several of their tracks. He also produced some of The Alkaholiks' early work. Throughout his career, he has released a number of solo instrumental albums and collaborated with various artists, including Planet Asia, Declaime, and DJ Babu. His 2001 release, "From Artz Unknown," marked his first official solo introduction and featured West Coast rappers like Declaime, The Visionaries, Krondon, Phil Da Agony, Planet Asia, and Wildchild.
