Karen Carpenter was born on March 2, 1950, in New Haven, Connecticut. She was the lead singer and drummer of a musical group. Tragically, she passed away on February 4, 1983, in Downey, California, at the age of 32 due to heart failure caused by complications related to her illness, anorexia nervosa. Karen was also the sister of another notable individual.
