Kate Bush is a British singer/songwriter, born on July 30, 1958, in Bexleyheath, London, UK. She was signed to EMI at the age of 16 after someone heard her work and helped her produce a demo tape. Bush achieved significant success early in her career, with her debut single "Wuthering Heights" reaching #1 in four countries when she was just 19 years old. Her most prolific creative period spanned from 1978 to 1993, during which she released new material and albums every few years. After the release of "The Red Shoes" in 1993, she took an extended break from public life to focus on her family. In November 2005, Bush returned with "Aerial," her first album in 12 years, which was preceded by the single "King Of The Mountain." In 2011, she released two albums: "Director's Cut," which reworked songs from "The Sensual World" and "The Red Shoes," and "50 Words for Snow," featuring new music. In 2014, she performed in a series of live concerts in London, titled "Before The Dawn," her first concerts in decades, all of which sold out in minutes. In recognition of her contributions to music, Bush was appointed Commander of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (CBE) in the 2013 New Year Honours.
