Kati Kovács, born on October 25, 1944, in Verpelét, Hungary, is a versatile singer known for her contributions to various music genres, including pop and disco. She achieved significant recognition in Hungary, winning the Popsongfestival in 1966 and 1972. Additionally, she was the champion of the Popsongfestival in Dresden, GDR, in 1972, and the Castlebar International Song Contest in Ireland in 1974. During the 1970s, Kovács also gained considerable popularity as a singer in the former German Democratic Republic (GDR).
