Kaveret, which translates to "Beehive" in Hebrew, was a highly popular Israeli rock band known for incorporating comedy into their music and performances. The band was formed by five musicians who had played together during their military service. By 1973, the lineup expanded to seven members, leading to the recording of their debut album, "Poogy Tales," which was based on an earlier rock opera of the same name. This album became one of Israel's best-selling records and earned Kaveret the title of "Band of the Year" from both Galei Tzahal and the Israel Broadcasting Authority, along with two number one singles. In 1974, Kaveret represented Israel at the Eurovision Song Contest with the song "Natati La Chayay" (I Gave Her My Life), finishing in seventh place. This song was featured on their second album, "Poogy In A Pita," released later that year, for which they also received "Band of the Year" honors again. Their third album, "Crowded in the Ear," released in 1975, did not achieve the same success as its predecessors, following which the band embarked on a North American tour. Kaveret disbanded in 1976.
