Keanu Nelson Tjakamarra is a Luritja artist from Papunya (Warumpi), located 250 km northwest of Alice Springs in Australia’s Northern Territory. Influenced by local sounds such as gospel, post-Lucky Dube reggae, and the rock group Warumpi Band, he began writing songs that explore themes of family, loneliness, and longing. In 2022, he met Sydney producer Yuta Matsumura, who was living in the community and working at the Papunya Tjupi Art Centre. Together, they recorded songs that culminated in the album "Wilurarrakutu," released by Altered States Tapes in 2023 and recently reissued by Mississippi Records.
