Keef Hartley was born on 8 April 1944 in Preston, Lancashire, England, and passed away on 26 November 2011 in Fulwood, Preston, Lancashire, England. He was an English drummer and percussionist known for playing with some of the greatest British blues rock musicians. Hartley replaced the drummer for a notable band and led his own band, which was the first British band to perform at a significant venue. He retired from the music industry in the mid-1970s.
