Keith Fullerton Whitman is an American electroacoustic musician, composer, and producer, born in 1973 and currently based in Cambridge, MA. He began his journey in electronic music in the mid-1990s while studying music synthesis at Berklee College of Music. Initially known for his drill-n-bass/glitch project, he now primarily works under his real name (KFW) and has released dozens of full-length albums, singles, remixes, and compilation appearances on various influential labels. Whitman runs a production studio and has been involved in the online distributor Mimaroglu Music Sales since 2003, specializing in experimental music. He has previously operated labels under different names and has collaborated live and on record with numerous notable musicians and electronic producers, including Greg Davis, Matmos, Oren Ambarchi, and many others. His current work focuses on experimental, electroacoustic, ambient, and drone music, emphasizing "truly Live Electronic Music" performed on a modular system that allows for complex sound and vision. Over the past 15 years, he has performed more than 500 times at various venues and festivals, and he has also created music for dance ensembles, sound design for video games, and projects involving "music for picture."
