Ketty Lester is an American singer and actress born on August 16, 1934, in Hope, Arkansas, USA. She achieved chart success in the U.S. and U.K. between 1962 and 1964, with five hits in the U.S. and two in the U.K. Her most notable song, "Love Letters," reached #5 overall in the U.S., #4 in the U.K., and #2 on the U.S. R&B chart. Another single, "But Not for Me," released later in 1962, peaked at #41 in the U.S., #10 on the U.S. adult contemporary chart, and #45 in the U.K. In addition to her music career, she is well-known for her role as Hester-Sue Terhune on the American television series "Little House on the Prairie."
