Kieron McDonald, better known as the frontman for Melbourne's Rockabilly outfit the Flatfoot Shakers, was born and raised in the seaside town of Rye in southern Victoria, Australia. His early exposure to his father's old Country records sparked his interest in music, leading him to explore Rockabilly and Rhythm and Blues, with influences from artists like Johnny Horton, early Elvis, and the classic Sun Rockabilly sound. Kieron lived in Europe from 1991 to 1995, where he immersed himself in the European Rockabilly scene. Upon returning to Australia in 1996, he began to lay the groundwork for the Flatfoot Shakers, focusing on a repertoire of obscure and classic '50s Rockabilly and Rock'n'Roll. Now a solo artist, Kieron has relocated to Cologne, Germany, to form a new band for touring in Europe. In 2005, he recorded his first solo album, "Island Girl," with local band the Round-Up Boys for Rhythm Bomb Records, featuring a blend of 50's Rockabilly and Hawaiian rhythm. Before leaving Australia in January 2009, he recorded "Beware Of The Swamp Man" at Melbourne's Preston studio, collaborating with some of Australia’s finest Rockabilly musicians. This album is available on Prestone Records.
