**King Crimson Bio** King Crimson is an English-based progressive rock band formed in 1968, recognized as one of the pioneers of the progressive rock genre. The band's first official rehearsal took place on January 13, 1969, with the initial lineup consisting of guitarist and lyricist (who coined the band's name), composer and multi-instrumentalist, bassist and vocalist, and drummer. After a seven-year hiatus, a newly-formed band including Robert Fripp, with vocals and guitar, bass and Chapman Stick, and Bill Bruford on drums, adopted the name King Crimson in mid-1981. This lineup remained stable until summer 1984, during which they released three studio albums. In May 1994, King Crimson reconvened as a "double trio
