**Kinky Foxx Bio** Kinky Foxx is a funk group originally from the Nassau Bahamas, later based in New York City. The band began as a nightclub act with aspirations for greater success. After relocating to the USA, they expanded their lineup to include Daniel Atherton (Drums), Kevin Bassett (Rhythm Guitar), Jerry Powell (Lead Guitar), Leslie Booker (Bass Guitar), Curtis Styles (Keyboards), and Vincent J. Lilly (Lead Vocals), with Burnis Stubbs as the only original member from the Bahamas on percussion. In 1983, Kinky Foxx released their hit "So Different" on Sound of New York Records and gained popularity in Canada, performing extensively from Ottawa to Halifax. They penned several songs, including "Want You Everyday," "Sorry," "Could It Be Love," and "Let's Go Dancin'." The band signed a recording deal with Duke Street Records in Toronto but lost it due to poor management, leading to their decline in the club scene and eventual disbandment by the late 80s. The origins of Kinky Foxx trace back to the Foxx brothers, Joseph and Donny, who initially formed "DER KINKY FOXX" in the Bahamas. As they moved to New York City, they rebranded and evolved to compete in the funk genre, performing at notable venues like the Cellar Club.
