Kinloch Nelson (b. 1950) is an American primitive guitarist, composer, and singer. He studied classical guitar privately in Rochester, NY, jazz guitar at the Eastman School of Music, and music theory at the University of Rochester. In 1973, he began teaching both privately and at The Hochstein Music School in Rochester, where he served on the faculty for twenty-five years. In 1985, he co-founded the Guitar Society of Rochester. Nelson is the author of the book "Alternate Guitar Tunings" and currently teaches privately, conducts guitar workshops, and maintains a performance schedule.
