Kino was a Soviet rock group formed in 1981 in Leningrad (USSR). The band consisted of Viktor Tsoy (guitar, vocals, 1981-1990), Aleksei Rybin (guitar, 1981-1983), Yuri Kasparyan (guitar, 1983-1990), Alexander Titov (bass, 1984-1985), Igor Tikhomirov (bass, 1985-1990), and Georgiy Guryanov (drums, 1984-1990). Viktor Tsoy tragically died in a car accident on August 15, 1990, which led to the disbandment of the group. The name "Kino" translates to "cinema" or "film" in Russian.
