Klimperei was a renowned duet known for their minimalist French music, featuring piano, toys, flutes, and percussion. Their style drew inspiration from artists like Pascal Comelade, Yann Tiersen, and Nino Rota, blending elements of childish music, nostalgic jazz, and playful experimentation. Their work can be described as an expressionist theater for puppets, appealing to the childlike spirit within listeners. Currently, Klimperei exists as a solo project by Christophe Petchanatz, who explores more experimental sounds and engages in numerous collaborations for both recordings and live performances.
