Koichi Oki was a renowned Japanese electronic keyboard musician born in Osaka Prefecture in 1940. He was employed by Yamaha in the early 1970s to promote their Electone organs. A notable achievement in his early career was winning first prize for his piece "Dead Leaf" at the 3rd Yamaha Electone Competition while studying at the Faculty of Education, Osaka Kyoiku University. Oki has released numerous works, including the "Electone Fantastic" series and the "PLAYS GX-1" series. He is known as "Mr. Electone" and is recognized as a top player in the jazz organ world, captivating audiences with his intense performances both domestically and internationally. He is also the father of a keyboard player in the Tokyo Sky Paradise Orchestra (東京スカパラダイスオーケストラ).
