Kokomo Arnold was an American blues singer and left-handed slide guitar player, born on February 15, 1901, in Lovejoy's Station, Georgia. He passed away on November 8, 1968, in Chicago due to a heart attack. His nickname was derived from the song "Old Original Kokomo Blues," which he recorded in 1934, a track that referenced the Kokomo brand of coffee. Arnold's first 78 record for Victor was released in 1930, although his numerous recordings for Decca between 1934 and 1938 were all credited to him as Kokomo Arnold. After 1941, he primarily worked outside of the music industry in the Chicago area.
