Koo Dé Tah was a New Zealand/Australian pop music band active in the 1980s, formed by Tina Cross and Leon Berger in Sydney. Cross, originally from New Zealand, was a successful singer with four top 50 singles and a winner of the 1979 Pacific Song Contest before moving to Australia in 1984. Berger, born in Russia and a graduate of the Moscow Conservatory of Music, had previously met Cross at a song contest in New Zealand. The band achieved success with their debut single, "Too Young for Promises," which reached number six on the Australian singles charts and number 48 in New Zealand in 1985. The song received significant airplay worldwide and was featured in the 1984 film "Streets Of Fire." Koo Dé Tah released their self-titled debut album in 1986 and remained active until 1987.
