Kourosh Yaghmaie (Persian: کورش یغمایی‎), also spelled as Kourosh Yaghmaee, was born on December 3, 1946. He is an Iranian singer, songwriter, composer, and record producer who began his career in the early 1970s. Regarded as one of the greatest Persian psychedelic rock musicians, he is often referred to as "the Godfather of Iranian psychedelic rock" and the "king of rock." His voice faced a ban for 17 years following the events of 1979.
