Kreator is a German thrash metal band formed in Essen in 1982. Initially named after its founding members, the band adopted the name Kreator in 1984 following the departure of singer Manfred Rehberg. Over its 40-plus year career, Kreator has released fifteen studio albums and has played a significant role in developing and popularizing the German thrash metal scene. The current lineup includes Miland "Mille" Petrozza on vocals and guitar, Jürgen "Ventor" Reil on drums, Sami Yli-Sirniö on guitar, and Frédéric Leclercq on bass. Former members include Roberto "Rob" Fioretti on bass, Jörg "Tritze" Trzebiatowski on guitar, Frank "Blackfire" Gosdzik on guitar, Andreas Herz on bass, Christian "Speesy" Giesler on bass, Joe Cangelosi on drums, and Thomas "Tommy" Vetterli on guitar. Additionally, several former touring members contributed to the band's live performances. Kreator continues to be a prominent force in the thrash metal genre.
