Kristen Nogues was born on March 14, 1952, in Versailles, France, and passed away on April 5, 2007, in Brest, France. She learned to speak Breton and play the Celtic harp at an early age, becoming a student of a concert artist when she was just 8 years old. At the age of 21, upon returning to Brittany, she discovered traditional Breton songs. In 1973, she co-founded a group that championed the idea of "living and working in your homeland," which led to her first records and a series of concerts across Europe. In 1980, Kristen left the group Nevenoe to pursue a solo career, supported by her manager Bertrand Dupont and a diverse array of writers and musicians, including Jacques Pellen, Bruno Nevez, and Denez Prigent, among others. Her creativity spanned various paths, including albums, children's music, film soundtracks, music for tales, poems, dance shows, and arrangements for other Breton artists. Kristen's music, characterized by its modern and innovative style, will be long remembered by musicians of all backgrounds.
