Kumar Sanu, born on September 23, 1957, in Kolkata, India, is a renowned playback singer in Bollywood. He adopted the alias Kumar Sanu to differentiate himself from the Indian composer duo Kalyanji-Anandji. Sanu achieved remarkable success, winning the Filmfare Best Male Playback Award for five consecutive years from 1990 to 1994. He is also a recipient of the Padma Shri award, one of India's highest civilian honors.
