La Banda is a Cuban musical group founded in 1988 by flutist José Luis Cortés, El Tosco, who also serves as the musical director. The group is known for creating the "timba" rhythm and features a talented lineup, including Elpidio Chapottin on trumpet, Feliciano Arango on bass, Rodolfo Argudìn-Peruchin on piano, Tony Calá and Issac Delgado on vocals, Germán Velasco on saxophone, and Giraldo Piloto on drums. La Banda's discography includes several albums, starting with their debut "No te compliques" in 1988. They followed up with "En la calle" and "No se puede tapar el sol" in 1990, and released "En la calle otra vez" and "En cuerpo y el alma" in 1991. In 1992, they produced "Échale Limón," which has both a Japanese version (aka Cabaret Panorámico, aka Cabaret Estelar) and a Cuban version released in 1993.
