La Bibliothèque de la Bergerie is an all-star project led by producer Emmanuel Mario, featuring 11 evocative instrumental tracks that blend synthetic and acoustic elements, detailed pop writing, and sonic experimentation. Collaborating with artists Nina Savary and Julien Gasc, the project draws from their collective creativity, resulting in a colorful and enchanting musical journey. Based in an isolated former sheepfold in the South of France, Mario and Savary have cultivated a community of artists and musicians seeking to escape their everyday lives. The compositions reflect the musical obsessions of the ensemble, traversing various styles, including soundtracks reminiscent of De Roubaix and Alessandroni, experimental pop akin to Stereolab and High Llamas, and primary electronic music. The name Bibliothèque De La Bergerie pays homage to Library Music, a genre popular in the 60s, 70s, and 80s, as well as to the sheepfold itself, which serves as both a living space and creative studio. The track titles are inspired by novels from the golden age of science fiction, inviting listeners to embark on a journey through time.
