La Mecánica Popular is a diverse musical collective comprised of musicians from Peru, Colombia, Venezuela, and New York. As part of the new wave of tropical music, they draw inspiration from the roots of 1970s salsa dura and the experimental sounds of Peru. The band uniquely blends ambient elements with hard rhythms, creating a distinctive sound they refer to as "Psychedelic Salsa."
