La Sangre Caliente is a Mexican musical group from Fresnillo, Zacatecas, founded in 1970 by brothers Jesús and José María Vanegas, who played the trumpet and saxophone, respectively. They were joined by Victor Arellano on keyboards, Benny Hernandez on drums, Ramón Gurrola on bass, José Luis Barreto on guitar, and vocalists Armando Hernandez and Victor Barba. Their repertoire includes original compositions and covers, blending various musical influences such as California Latin Rock, Soul, Funk, Mambo, Bolero, Brazilian, and Cuban music, along with the psychedelic vibe of the era. Their contract with Discos Gas allowed them to record two LPs, "La Sangre Caliente" and "La Sangre Caliente vol.2," showcasing their interpretative quality. The sudden death of their musical director, Jesús Vanegas, in 1995 marked the end of this intriguing group's journey.
