**Bio: La Sonora Veracruz** La Sonora Veracruz is one of the best and longest-lived tropical groups in Mexico, founded in the early years of the second half of the 20th century by Toño Barcelata. The initial lineup included Toño and Ramón Barcelata on first and second trumpet, respectively, Rodrigo Barcelata on guitar and second voice, Jorge Kerber on the tresillo, Chucho Mora on bongo, and Pepe Vallejo on vocals and percussion. In 1960, they released their first recording, and subsequent works with Orfeón helped define the Barcelata family's style. However, as the group gained popularity, some members chose to depart from the original concept of Sonora Veracruz, which was continued by vocalist Pepe Vallejo. During this transition, new members joined, including Miguel Ángel González ("La Gallega"), Arturo Vicario, Alejandro Chávez, and a pianist who had previously collaborated with the group. Once the new lineup was established, they embarked on their first tour of Mexico City, quickly winning over the audience. From that point on, La Sonora Veracruz experienced a successful career, performing extensively both domestically and internationally. They have produced more than 40 records and collaborated with renowned artists such as Bienvenido Granda, Celio Gonzalez, Daniel Santos, Rolando LaSerie, and Welfo.
