Lady Blacktronica is a DJ and electronic recording artist based in Berlin, Germany. Born on November 19, 1975, in San Jose, California, USA, she gained her first experience in music production in 1997 by providing vocals for numerous unreleased house tracks after meeting and collaborating with a DJ friend. Frustrated with being excluded from the production process, she began creating house music and techno in 2006, focusing on Beatdown tracks. In early 2007, she was discovered on Myspace and introduced to a global audience through a Detroit radio broadcast. Shortly thereafter, she released her first single as part of a 12-inch in October 2007. She also runs a label.
