Lady Blacktronika is a DJ and electronic recording artist based in Berlin, Germany. Born on November 19, 1975, in San Jose, California, USA, she gained her first taste of music production in 1997 by providing vocals for numerous unreleased house tracks after meeting and collaborating with a DJ friend. Frustrated with being excluded from the production process by male counterparts, she began exploring house music and techno production in 2006, focusing on Beatdown tracks. In early 2007, she was discovered on Myspace, which led to her introduction to a global audience through a Detroit radio broadcast. Shortly after, she released her first single as part of a 12-inch in October 2007. Additionally, she runs a platform dedicated to her work.
