Lalo Duarte is a Mexican singer and composer who began his career as the vocalist for a group. After releasing some initial solo records, he shifted his focus to the popular "Onda Chicana" style, performing under a pseudonym. Duarte contributed to recordings by another group and signed with Discos Zave. In 1972, he dissolved the group he was part of to form a new one.
