Grammenos Chalkias is a distinguished clarinetist, serving as Principal Clarinet with the City of Athens Symphony Orchestra since 2000. A graduate of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, he further honed his craft at the Royal Northern College of Music and the Birmingham Conservatoire, earning an M.A. in Music with distinction. Chalkias has collaborated with esteemed conductors like Simon Rattle and Genadi Rozhestvenski and has performed across Europe, including solo appearances with the City of Thessaloniki Symphony Orchestra and the Plovdiv Symphony Orchestra. A dedicated educator, he teaches clarinet and saxophone at institutions in Athens and Nafplio.
