Lankum is an Irish folk group from Dublin, founded in 2000 and known as Lankum since 2017. The four-piece traditional folk group is recognized for their distinctive four-part vocal harmonies and arrangements featuring uilleann pipes, concertina, Russian accordion, fiddle, and guitar. Their repertoire includes humorous Dublin music-hall ditties, street-songs, classic ballads from the Traveller tradition, traditional Irish and American dance tunes, and original material. Originally performing under a different name, the band chose to rebrand due to the unintended association of the previous name with the racist practice of lynching. The name Lankum is derived from the ballad "False Lankum," as sung by Irish Traveller John Reilly Jr.
