Lara Saint Paul, born on March 31, 1945, in Asmara, was an accomplished singer and performer who made Italy her home after moving there as a small child. She was raised in a nurturing environment that fostered her delicate yet passionate nature. Lara studied singing under Prof. Tina Brini, a teacher with experience at the Scala di Milano. From a young age, she was enchanted by music, spending hours listening to the works of gospels and spirituals, inspired by artists like Mahalia Jackson, Louis Armstrong, and Ella Fitzgerald. At sixteen, Lara made her debut at the Sanremo Festival, where she quickly gained recognition for her talent. Her big break came in 1967 when she switched record labels and began working with manager Pier Quinto Cariaggi, who later became her husband. In 1968, she made a notable return to Sanremo, performing a duet with Louis Armstrong, who praised her as one of the most talented singers he had ever met. Lara's career flourished as she performed across Europe and the United States, collaborating with renowned figures such as Bill Conti, Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder, and Quincy Jones. Her accolades included gold records in Europe and awards at the International Music Festival in Tokyo.
