Lata Mangeshkar

Lata Mangeshkar was an iconic Indian playback singer, born on 28th September 1929 in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, India. She passed away on 6th February 2022 in Mumbai, India, due to complications from COVID-19. Renowned for her remarkable four-octave vocal range, she is celebrated as one of India’s greatest playback singers. Mangeshkar holds the distinction of being the most-recorded voice in history, with an impressive repertoire of over 30,000 songs featured in more than 1,200 films and sung in over 20 different languages. She was the daughter of a singer and the sister of several singers and a composer.
