Lattie Moore was a country and rockabilly singer born on October 16, 1924, in Scottsville, Kentucky. He passed away on June 13, 2010, in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Known primarily to rockabilly collectors, Moore was a genuine honky-tonker who moved to Indianapolis in the early 1940s to pursue music. He recorded for various labels, predominantly the King label based in nearby Cincinnati. Raised on a family farm where he helped with tobacco cultivation, Moore developed an early interest in music, learning to play the guitar, mandolin, and upright bass. His musical influences included Gene Autry, Roy Acuff, Hank Snow, Ernest Tubb, and Hank Williams. At 19, he hitchhiked to Indianapolis, seeking opportunities in music. After a brief stint in the Navy, he returned to Indiana by the end of 1944, performing in small clubs and hosting a radio show on WISH, later emceeing the Mid-Western Jamboree on WIBC. Moore's first record, "Hideaway Heart" / "Married Troubles," released in 1951 on the Arrow label, is considered extremely rare. In 1952, he recorded "Juke Joint Johnny" for the Speed label, which is recognized as one of the first rock & roll records from Nashville, despite its initial obscurity. He also recorded a rock ’n’ roll version titled "Juke Box Johnnie"
