Lazarus Tembo was a renowned Zambian folk singer, born in the Malambo area of Eastern Province in 1946. He became a prominent figure in the country, rising to the position of junior Minister of Culture and earning the title of arguably the most popular folk singer in Zambia. Despite losing his sight at the age of eight while attending a mission school, Tembo's talent and influence in music flourished. He passed away in the 1990s.
