Le Motel is a versatile music producer and film composer based in Brussels, known for his unique blend of sounds and experiences gathered from around the globe. With a background in graphic design, his music often features a visual trace, making him a natural fit for film composition. His productions stand out due to evocative collages that intertwine organic elements with woozy synths, captivating listeners with their depth and complexity. Le Motel gained early recognition through notable releases on LA's TAR label and achieved a breakthrough with his 2015 album 'OKA' for New Zealand's Cosmic Compositions, which was highlighted as album of the week by Gilles Peterson on BBC Radio 6. This album seamlessly fuses juke, hip hop, and techno with a jazzy undertone, showcasing his ability to navigate diverse musical styles. In recent years, Le Motel has contributed to the success of some of Belgium's top hip hop artists but is now focused on presenting his own work. His new EP, 'Transiro,' reflects a period of transition in his life and marks the launch of his own label, Maloca, which aims to explore connections between various influences and cultures. Collaborating with Brussels-based artist Antoine De Schuyter, they have created a modular AV show that will evolve over time. In addition to his production work, Le Motel is also establishing himself as a formidable DJ.
