Le Ry-co Jazz

Ry-Co Jazz was a prominent band that emerged as pan-African heroes in the 1960s, known for introducing their vibrant Congo/Latin rhythms to West Africa. Founded in Congo around 1958/59, the group was managed by a hit parade guitarist who initially brought Franco into the recording studio. The original members included Panda Gracia, and they were later joined by an ace guitarist who remained with the band until their journey concluded in 1972. In 1967, with the addition of a sax master, Ry-Co Jazz spent four years in the French Antilles, significantly influencing the pioneers of 'zouk' music.
