Le Tigre is an American electronic rock band formed in 1998 in New York City by Kathleen Hanna, Johanna Fateman, and Sadie Benning. After Benning's departure in 2001, JD Samson joined the group, which continued until their disbandment. Known for their left-wing sociopolitical lyrics, Le Tigre often addresses issues of feminism and the LGBT community. Their music combines punk's directness and politics with playful samples, eclectic pop, and lo-fi electronics. The band incorporates multimedia and performance art into their live shows, frequently collaborating with like-minded acts such as The Need. In 2023, Le Tigre began touring together again.
