Lee Konitz was an American jazz alto saxophonist known for his unique sound and improvisational style. He was born on October 13, 1927, in Chicago, Illinois, and became a prominent figure in the cool jazz movement. Konitz was known for his work with the Lennie Tristano school of jazz and collaborated with many notable musicians throughout his career, including Miles Davis and Bill Evans.
