Lee Morgan (born July 10, 1938, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - died February 19, 1972, in New York City, New York, USA) was an American jazz trumpeter primarily associated with hard bop. He is recognized for his collaborations with various artists and for his 1963 album "The Sidewinder." Tragically, he was fatally shot in 1972.
