Leif Elggren is a Swedish composer, visual artist, and recording artist born on January 7, 1950, in Linköping. He currently resides in Stockholm. His work has been exhibited in various prestigious locations, including the Nordic Pavilion at the Venice Biennale in 2001, Färgfabriken in Stockholm, Podevil in Berlin, the 2nd Biennial in Johannesburg, Palazzo delle Papesse in Siena, and cities such as Tokyo, Osaka, Marugame, Gothenburg, and Los Angeles. Elggren's music has been released through several labels, including those based in London, Stockholm, and Amsterdam, as well as Insofar Vapour Bulk in Moscow. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with artists such as Firework, Guds Söner, and Erik Pauser. Notably, on May 27, 1992, at 12 noon GMT, he proclaimed the Kingdom of Elgaland-Vargaland, a new country established as a work of art.
