Lenny McDaniel was a talented guitarist, bassist, and pianist born in New Orleans on July 26, 1950. He was a singer-songwriter and the leader of the group The New Era, which recorded two 45s and an unreleased LP. Later, he formed The Last Nikle, which produced an LP and several 45s for Mainstream Records. Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, McDaniel moved to Los Angeles, where he worked as a session musician and contributed to soundtracks. He returned to New Orleans in the 1990s. Lenny McDaniel passed away on July 3, 2015, and was the brother of Wally McDaniel.
