Leon Payne was an American country singer, musician, and prolific songwriter, born on June 15, 1917, in Alba, Texas, USA. Known affectionately as the "Blind Balladeer" due to being blind in both eyes, he made significant contributions to the music industry. He passed away on September 11, 1969, in San Antonio, Texas, at the age of 52. Payne was also an uncle. His BMI IPI number is 23706800.
