Leon Rausch was an American western swing singer, as well as a guitar and bass player, known as "the voice of" a prominent band. He moved to Tulsa in the 1950s, where he played with local bands, including a group led by a notable figure, before being hired to join a famous band in 1958. After the retirement of its original leader in 1965, Rausch fronted a lineup of the band and returned to do so again in 1986 when he and another individual purchased the rights to the band's name from Betty Wills. He was also a member of a long-running ensemble. Born in Billings, Missouri, on October 2, 1927, Rausch passed away on May 14, 2019, in Fort Worth, Texas, at the age of 91.
